I just had 4 and a half acres of my property fenced in. It includes my front lawn, a one acre pond, sections of forest, and my back yard. I am delighted with the whole thing...start to finish....soup to nuts. The initial consult was most helpful. ALL of my questions were answered...and I had a lot, for I was apprehensive about this type of containment for my dog. The most important part of this process for me and my dog was the training. I took the training very seriously, and asked lots of questions. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the training. Brad was so knowledgable, and an outstanding teacher for me, and my dog, Mia. I contribute Mia's success in understanding her boundaries to this training. When I get another dog, it will be expensive to outfit her with the collar and the three training sessions I would want....but so worth it to me...and necessary to do the whole process right. I whole heartedly recommend Invisible Fence of the Southern Tier.
We also have the indoor unit, and it has been a godsend. We got to where we couldn't cook in the kitchen with her underfoot. We put it at one of the entrances to the kitchen, and she never comes into the kitchen that way. It has made things easier. If you have a plant you don't want your pet to get into, set the unit next to plant and after a couple times of her getting close, she respects the collar and doesn't go anywhere near the plants.
We learned how to train a dog to Invisible Fence when we had the fence installed. We have successfully used the methods each time we got a new dog. It works! The only time our dog left the yard was when we forgot to check the battery. Now we check the battery more often.
We love our invisible fence. Our dog is a coon hound and a runner, but she is very respectful of her fence. She doesn't test the fence at all, she stops as soon as she starts to feel the collar. Interestingly enough, she went outside on day with out her collar (my bad) and she didn't realize and never went near the line.
After researching many fencing options, we decided to learn more about Invisible Fence and have been beyond happy with our decision to have one installed! The training received was phenomenal and our trainer, Brad, was very experienced with handling, communicating with, and guiding our dog. Our dog loves her freedom to roam the yard without the need to be tied out! She can explore/hunt, run, play, lounge … whatever she desires and we feel safe knowing we can trust the system we chose for her to keep her safe in our yard.
